Assist Debbie: Job Loss and Eviction Loom
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for my dear friend, Debbie Jordan. After dedicating over 25 years to her career as an IT Project Manager — the last 6 of which were spent serving as a Senior Project Manager for USAID — Debbie was abruptly laid off in February due to federal budget cuts. She was given just one day notice, with no severance and no additional paycheck to fall back on.
Debbie has always been a fighter. As a single mother, she built a successful career through sheer determination and hard work. Since losing her job, she’s been relentlessly job-hunting while working over 40 hours a week at a minimum wage job to try and stay afloat. She’s also applied for every form of aid available and even worked with a housing advocate to create a rent payment plan, hopeful that she’d secure a new position soon.
But despite her efforts, time is running out. Debbie now faces the very real threat of eviction if she cannot pay her rent — including back rent — by the 30th of this month. She’s done everything in her power to avoid this moment, and now, she needs us.
We’re asking for your help — whether through a donation or by sharing Debbie’s story and resume with your network. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help keep a roof over her head while she continues her search for stable, meaningful employment.
Let’s show Debbie that she’s not alone — that her years of service, dedication, and perseverance have not gone unnoticed. Please donate if you can, and help us keep our sweet, strong friend in her home.
