Hello, my name is David Barrett. I work security for a local high school and I am also a football coach there. I mentor a lot of kids and might I add, I am a very hard-working and loving father to my children.
On July 16, I had to check myself into the hospital because I was feeling very sick, dizzy, and tired. It turned out my blood sugar was in the 600s and I had a temperature of 105. When they ran my blood test, I had a very bad infection in my bloodstream. This was due to two bad ulcers on my right foot and a bad cut under my big toe. Long story short, they had to do immediate surgery to scrape out all the damaged tissue and I ended up losing my toe. That's the only way they could save my foot.
Now, I have this wound vacuum on my right foot and it has disabled me from working my summer jobs, which are night security and on the military base. I will get to work light duty at the high school starting on the 26th of August, but I won't see a paycheck until September 15. I currently stay in the Intown Suites where I pay $354 a week. Some family and friends, as well as the Salvation Army, have helped me to make it possible for me to stay for the past two weeks.
I am supposed to have this vacuum boot on until October or November. Once it gets off, I can get back to making money like I am supposed to. But as of right now, I am in desperate need of assistance.
