My name is Aricka Irwin. Darin Marshall and I are engaged.

Recently, Darin Marshall's 10-year-old car was stolen from behind our warehouse's back door, in a dead-end back alley, behind a wall in a gated community he's lived in for 30 years. This has left us with a huge problem as he doesn't have any liquidity right now to buy a new car, since we don't know when, or if, the stolen car will resurface.

There was no warning for this, and he had planned to use the current car's value as a trade-in for a new (to us) vehicle, purchased via a bank loan later this year, when the Employee Stock Purchase Program period ended in August.

This theft has pushed these plans to find a new vehicle into high gear for us, as now, Darin has no way to get me, or himself down to work in Sunnyvale, unless we get a loan from a bank. Rental cars are very expensive week to week, and Darin has a pre-approval for a new (to us) car through Capital One's Auto Navigator service, but all of the offers require a $3,000 down payment that Darin just doesn't have currently.

The insurance was no assistance either, as comprehensive in Oakland is more than triple the cost of minimal, state-mandated insurance, and Darin didn't have comprehensive when this frankly bizarre and untimely vehicle theft occurred in such an unlikely location.

Darin’s working on selling some of his unused vintage music creation gear, and anything else awe can find of value, online via Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, but these kinds of sales take time, and the auto loan pre-approval period is running out; it's only good through May 14th.

If we can get the $3000 down payment together soon, we can get into a new (to us) car with monthly payments through the bank in the very near future, allowing him to continue taking me to work and getting himself down to work as well.
