On July 17, 2025 Sherese Henry experienced the heartbreaking loss of Daren, her husband and father of the 2 children they shared. Daren was a caring dad, a devoted son and brother, and a wonderful friend. His loss is deeply felt by Sherese, his children, and everyone who loved him.

As Sherese navigates this difficult time, she is now facing the emotional and financial burden of arranging Daren’s final farewell. Like many families, they were not prepared for the high costs of funeral and memorial services.

While caring for his mother as she succumbed to kidney disease, Daren ignored his own health challenges. Being out of work and without health insurance, he tried treating himself with alternative medicine and was eventually diagnosed with bladder cancer. Many rounds of treatment followed. He got better for a time, but the cancer returned, first in his lungs and then finally in his bones. After a 3-year battle, Daren chose hospice care at home with Sherese and their children. The disease was debilitating and painful, but he managed it with grace and dignity. He never complained. He was grateful for the life he had and said he was at peace with God's will.

We hope to raise $3,500 to help cover his funeral expenses and related costs. Every dollar raised will go directly to Sherese to help ease the financial strain and allow her and the children to grieve without additional hardship.
