The Westminster community is mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Cory Walker, a dedicated farmer, beloved partner, and wonderful father. Cory was a resilient worker , a great person, and a man who cultivated a community of loyal friends and admirers after moving to Westminster from Martha's Vineyard in 2006 to grow vegetables and flowers. He was known for his passion for farming, operating his own organic vegetable farm called "Guerilla Grown" and later serving as a partner and production manager at Harlow Farm. His untimely death—found in the Connecticut River on Sunday —has left a profound void in the lives of all who knew him. He truly contributed a lot to our community and will be deeply missed.
More than a farmer, Cory was a devoted father, and partner to Cate. He was a good dad , and his dedication as a father was something people praised him for. This unthinkable tragedy has left Cate and five-year-old twins facing an uncertain future without him. As a community, we can wrap our arms around Cory's family by offering financial support to help them through this devastating transition. All funds raised will go directly to Cathrine to assist with immediate needs, childcare, and to provide stability for the twins as they adjust to a life without their father.
Please consider making a donation today to help lift the burden on Cory's family during this heartbreaking time. Cory was a man who worked hard, impressed everyone he met, and created beauty in the fields. Let us honor his memory by caring for the beautiful family he leaves behind. Any amount you can contribute will make a difference in helping his wife and young children find a path forward. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for keeping Cory's family in your thoughts.
