Assist Chrys with Cancer Treatment Costs
Donation protected
In November 2019, Chrys Ingraham was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and
was scheduled for a hysterectomy in January. While in laparoscopic surgery the doctor discovered an extensive tumor in the ovary that had metastasized to 4 other locations in the abdomen. She then conducted open abdominal surgery and removed the tumors. The news was not good. Chrys woke up to 52 staples and her life turned upside down. The diagnosis was stage 3c ovarian cancer requiring major treatment protocols that began in February 2020, just as the world was quarantining with Covid and medical staff were becoming her extended family. She adjusted her work schedule and started chemotherapy in February 2020. Unfortunately, the cancer returned in three abdominal lymph nodes in September 2020. Chemo treatments was intensified and in February and March 2021, Chrys suffered major organ failure and was hospitalized twice. The medical team completely overhauled her medications and Chemo resumed in April 2021. Not one to give up, Chrys continued to work. “Students give me hope for the future!”
Her medical team--doctors, and nurses—is excellent and includes an “amazing” gynecological oncologist, a cardiologist, pulmonologist, nephrologist, and internist. You will not be surprised to hear that she “loves” the nursing staff and raves about them regularly. However, her hospital visits have become “a fulltime job” and include multiple scans, lab work, and chemo. While she feels blessed to have insurance, the costs have now exceeded her ability to pay for co-pays and drugs and she has been advised to seek additional cancer suppressing treatments. After her near death experience this past winter, she added an Integrative Oncologist to her health team and has studied the recent research on successful alternatives. Her treatments now include Vitamin C infusions, nutrition, meditation, physician consultations and blood work. But she needs help. The Integrative therapy costs are cash only, not covered by insurance. Her bills are piling up and her flex plan is depleted. The good news is her cancer has receded, for now. Please help us support her efforts to fight this terrible disease and help in any way you can—donations or love and light! Thank you.
