Hello everyone,

My name is Tanya — I’m the longtime girlfriend and future wife of Christian Taylor. The last few months have been some of the hardest we’ve ever faced.

Chris was laid off from his job as a foundation driller earlier this year, and after weeks of searching, he finally started a new position with Western Archer as a heavy equipment operator. He worked there for about 60 days before everything changed.

One day, he was suddenly overcome with sharp, stabbing pain in his back that left him unable to move. Even lying down was unbearable. What we thought would be a quick hospital visit has turned into some of the longest and most painful weeks of our lives.

Because he was still in his 90-day probationary period, Western Archer had to let him go. Chris has been in the hospital since October 8th, unable to walk, stand, or move without intense pain. The doctors now say he’ll have to remain there until at least December 14th.

Chris had knee replacement surgery in 2021, and the doctors believe that the implant may have become infected. That infection spread through his bloodstream and caused multiple battles with sepsis. He’s fighting every single day just to get better.

I’ve had to quit my office job to care for him full-time, and I’m now driving for Uber whenever I can just to try and keep up with bills. But no matter how hard I push myself, it’s not enough — our savings are gone, and we’re not sure how we’ll manage next month.
