Assist Chino's Family in Their Time of Loss

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Jancel Santos Perez (Chino) a true leader, mentor, friend, a hero. He was the youngest (& favorite) of 3 children. Unfortunately, on March 25th, 2025, he was ripped out of our lives after fulfilling his last act of selflessness and kindness, sacrificing himself for the benefit of others (John 15:13). He leaves behind a wife, 2 children ages 2 & 6, his parents & siblings, and countless others who he interacted with, along with unaccomplished dreams.

If you knew Chino, you understand the magnitude of our loss. Baseball was his passion. He and his father had a baseball academy in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic where he spearheaded the training programs and structures for hundreds of children in a 10-year span with a 95% success signing rate into the minor baseball leagues. He taught with love and focused on each child’s virtue and potential and brought out the best in them. He impacted every single life he encountered. He always had smile and a positive attitude. He always saw the best in people and confronted difficult situations with courage understanding that there is always a lesson to be learned. His ultimate desire was to return to live to the Dominican Republic and continue to give the children of his community endless opportunities through baseball. Together, we can honor his legacy. We kindly seek your support to cover funeral expenses.

The funeral expenses include funeral home costs and transportation to the Dominican Republic where he will have his funeral service and finally be placed to rest.

We are working to cover these costs as soon as possible, and any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference.

Nos duele anunciar el fallecimiento de nuestro querido Jancel Santos Pérez (Chino), un verdadero líder, mentor, amigo y héroe. Era el menor (y predilecto) de tres hijos. Desafortunadamente, el 25 de marzo de 2025, nos lo arrebataron tras realizar su último acto de generosidad y bondad, sacrificándose por el bien de los demás (Juan 15:13). Deja atrás a su esposa, dos hijos de 2 y 6 años, sus padres y hermanos, e innumerables personas con quienes interactuó, además de sueños incumplidos.

Si conociste a Chino, comprendes la magnitud de nuestra pérdida. El béisbol era su pasión. Él y su padre tenían una academia de béisbol en San Francisco de Macorís, República Dominicana, donde dirigió los programas y estructuras de entrenamiento para cientos de niños durante 10 años, con un 95% de éxito en fichajes a las ligas menores. Enseñó con amor, se centró en la virtud y el potencial de cada niño y sacó lo mejor de ellos. Impactó cada vida que conoció. Siempre tenía una sonrisa y una actitud positiva. Siempre veía lo mejor en las personas y enfrentaba las situaciones difíciles con valentía, sabiendo que siempre hay una lección que aprender. Su mayor deseo era regresar a vivir a la República Dominicana y seguir brindando a los niños de su comunidad un sinfín de oportunidades a través del béisbol. Juntos, podemos honrar su legado.
