TL;DR: I’m relocating from Kentucky to San Francisco for my pre-doctoral psychology internship at UCSF’s Multicultural Training Program. This is a dream opportunity to serve diverse and marginalized communities, but the cost of moving is steep. Any support toward relocation expenses is deeply appreciated. Thank you!
Hi everyone,
My name is Cherish, and I’m a rising fifth-year clinical psychology doctoral student who has recently matched with the UCSF Multicultural Training Program at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital for my pre-doctoral internship.
This is an incredible opportunity to work with underserved and marginalized communities, populations I’m deeply passionate about serving through trauma-informed and culturally responsive care. While I’m honored and excited to begin this next chapter of my professional journey, relocating from Lexington, KY to San Francisco comes with significant financial challenges.
Internship stipends are modest and do not cover upfront relocation expenses like cross-country travel, moving services, initial housing costs, and basic living essentials in one of the most expensive cities in the country.
I’m humbly asking for your support to help ease the financial burden of this transition. Your contribution—no matter the amount—will help me focus on my training and service to the community without the added stress of financial strain.
Thank you so much for being part of my journey! Your generosity, encouragement, and kindness mean more than I can express.
With gratitude,
Cherish
