Carson’s Fight Against Knobloch Syndrome & Vision Loss

Donation protected
Hi, everyone. We’re reaching out on behalf of our incredible friend Tara and her youngest son, Carson, who have been facing unimaginable challenges with strength, hope, and love.

When Carson was just a baby, he was diagnosed with Knobloch Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes severe vision loss. Despite the odds, Carson has grown into a funny, courageous, and resilient young man. Through sheer determination and the support of his amazing mom, he recently graduated high school, a milestone we all celebrated with pride and joy.

Unfortunately Carson recently suffered an accident in late April that detached the cornea lens in his right eye, his only eye from which he had a few inches of sight remaining. Emergency surgery to remove the detached lens was performed on May 14th in hopes of saving what little vision remains. As he awaits his follow-up appointment, Carson is also preparing for additional surgeries to treat the underlying complications of his condition.

His mother, Tara, is the heart and strength of this family. A single mom working multiple jobs, she has carried the weight of years of medical treatments, long-distance travel to specialists, and the emotional toll of caregiving with grace and quiet determination.

Her oldest son, Garrett, is currently serving overseas in the military, and Carson requires ongoing care and treatment miles away in Miami. With no reliable car, Tara often has to rent vehicles, stay in hotels, and take time off work. All costs that are quickly becoming overwhelming.

Tara has never asked for help—but now, as friends and family, we are asking for her.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to help cover:

  • Ongoing medical expenses and surgeries

  • Travel and lodging for appointments in Miami

  • Transportation needs

  • Lost income from time off work

  • Day-to-day support for the family

Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward lifting some of the enormous burden Tara is carrying. If you’re unable to give financially, your prayers, well-wishes, and shares of this page are just as valuable and deeply appreciated.

Thank you for reading their story. Thank you for your love and kindness. And thank you for standing with this beautiful family as they continue their fight. They are not alone.

With gratitude,
Their tribe ❤️
