Support Former Peace Corps Volunteer Dale Burrows' recovery
Donation protected
Dale was a Peace Corps volunteer in the late 1980s (That is him in white). Dale was in his 50s then and was something of a mentor to a number of younger volunteers.
Dale met the love of his life, Caroline Lippert. They married in 1994, and vowed to share their life together. Caroline refers to him as, "The bravest man she knows."
At the beginning of 2024, Dale woke up unable to walk. It turns out he suffered strokes on both sides of his brain. He has either been in the hospital or rehab since January, recovering from those strokes, fighting sepsis (a serious blood infection), healing from surgery to repair a fractured femur, dealing with complications from anesthesia and other infections, and surviving the use of a feeding tube at 2 different hospitals with palliative care advising his wife to just let him ride off into the sunset.
Dale has shown such resilience, such courage, such strength throughout this journey. Caroline just wants to honor the man she loves.
Thank God, Dale is at home, but he is currently in need of 24 hour care (not covered by health insurance).
The medical and care expenses he requires are causing a financial hardship and they are concerned that everything they have worked so hard for, they could lose.
Your donations will go towards paying for his medical and care expenses. Any amount will help and make a difference.
Please note that all funds raised will go to Dale and his wife Caroline to pay for the care he needs..
