Assist Carmela, a Dedicated Teacher in Austin

Hello! My name is Carmela, and I am a prekindergarten teacher and a full-time doctoral student in Austin. I have been living paycheck to paycheck for a while now. Teachers are on a tight budget, especially now. My 14-year-old car recently broke down and needs over $2000 of work. Get a new car, you might say. My credit is not so great, and I live with my sister and her two boys and my elderly mother. All of us have dedicated our lives to making sure kids have access to the best public school education that they deserve. Unfortunately, I cannot take out a loan (credit not so good) or borrow money from my mom (teacher retirement is in danger). I need to get my car fixed so that I can get to work and grad school 3 days a week. Ubers are expensive, and rides to UT from South Austin are hard to come by. Any little bit would help!
