Support Bob Lynch Fund Raiser
My name is Bill Watters and I’m a friend and neighbor of Bob Lynch, who received life-threatening injuries on Monday, Jan 27, 2025 while helping with the preparations for the Curtis Ice Carnival in Curtis, Michigan. Bob was accidentally run over by a truck that was plowing snow and was critically injured.
After being transported by EMS to the hospital in Newberry, Michigan, Bob was stabilized and transported to the Level 1 trauma center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The past few weeks have been rough for Bob as he endured IV tubes, drainage tubes, ventilators, and blood transfusions. Steel plates were surgically implanted in his chest to stabilize multiple broken ribs and a punctured lung.
Bob is now home and receiving ongoing in-home treatment and physical therapy. Once the initial swelling goes down and his bruising subsides, he may be heading back to Green Bay for facial reconstruction surgeries to repair his broken orbital bones and possible eye surgery. Bob has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
Bob and his wife, Janine, are two of the most generous people I know. You may have seen them both volunteering for many worthy causes and events within our community (as he was during this accident). They are also involved with their church, and after raising their own children, they delayed their retirement plans to help raise some of their grandkids. In fact, on the very day Bob was released from the hospital, he still talked about going to help local kids bait their hooks at the ice carnival that weekend. He obviously wasn’t able to make it to the festival, but his heart and the desire to help remain strong.
Bob and Janine are too humble and proud to ask for our help, but I am not. Insurance will cover much of the medical costs, but copays will still be sizable. And as they continue to travel back and forth to Green Bay for future surgeries and specialist care, the expenses for travel, lodging and meals will add up quickly.
Therefore, I am asking for anyone who can afford to help, to please contribute to the Support Bob Lynch fund to help ease the financial burden they will inevitably incur. Bob needs to focus on healing and not worry about the financial impact this will have on both him and his family. And I ask that even if you can’t help financially at this time, please keep Bob and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you!
