Our beloved neighbor and dear friend, Annie, recently suffered the sudden and heartbreaking loss of her husband, Mike. Annie and Mike shared over 30 years together, raising children and welcoming grandchildren into their lives. After a lifetime of love, they made the joyful decision to finally marry earlier this year. Tragically, their time as husband and wife was cut short after just six months.

Because of the short duration of their marriage, Annie is not eligible to receive the Social Security benefits Mike had been using to help cover their household expenses. Now, at nearly 70 years old and working two jobs, Annie is facing the emotional and financial challenges of navigating life without him.
