Assist Andy: Impound Fees Threaten His Mobility

Hello, I am Andy, and I need help. I am 52 years old and have applied for disability after working for 30+ years, and this has put me in a bind. I am unable to stand for long periods of time due to previous injuries. I worked most of my life with the pain caused by these injuries and can no longer work for extended periods of time. I have worked at two home improvement stores and one superstore but was terminated for "non-productivity." It was at this time that I decided to apply for disability. It has been almost a year in the system waiting to hear if I qualified for help.

During this time, I have helped my 72-year-old mother, taking her to the grocery store and her doctor appointments, and the various errands that a child does for his/her mom. She helped when she could, but I didn't feel right asking her for help because she is my mother. And during this time, I was in an accident. I had let my insurance slip on my car, along with my registration, because I did not want to put any more strain on my family, who has helped me out tremendously. I thought that if I could just be careful driving, then I could "catch" everything up if I could get the help I needed from disability, but that didn't work out that way. I got in an accident and had my car impounded, where it sits right now. My family can't help me with this, so I have turned to GoFundMe to help me get my car out of impoundment. I have had help to get my insurance up to date, and now I need to get my car back so I can continue to help my mom and other members of my family when I can. That is why I am asking for help now from all of you.

I am still waiting to hear from disability, but while I wait, the fees from the impound are still piling up day by day. I am afraid that the impound will auction my car and any chance I have of getting it back is zero. So, I am asking for help to pay the fees so I can go back to helping my mother and my family.
