Update: Aaron passed away in hospice care on the morning of January 15th while holding Kari's hand. On behalf of Aaron's family, we would like to thank everyone again for their support, generosity, and prayers.

In early December of 2024, Aaron suffered a stroke. He was recovering well in therapy and was expected to come home on Christmas Eve, but unfortunately that wound up not being the case. The evening before he intended to come home, he collapsed due to previously unknown internal bleeding and was rushed back to the ER. It was eventually revealed that in the time since his collapse on the 24th, he suffered from numerous additional strokes that did permanent damage to his brain, but the unconsciousness from the blood loss prevented anyone from assessing that damage.
At the time of writing on 1/11/25, Aaron is still in the ICU recovering in both body and mind. It is still unclear what the final outcome will be, but in that time there have been many tests, several operations, and countless prayers. His wife Kari has been by his side every day praying and encouraging him.
Kari and the rest of Aaron's family are deeply thankful for the prayers and support received by friends, coworkers, and members of several churches. Since there have been several people asking how they could help monetarily, this gofundme was set up on Kari's behalf. All money received will go directly to her and Aaron.
As the situation is ongoing, it is unknown what the extent of the medical bills will be. The goal of the gofundme was set at a number not expected to be reached. It was instead set at the amount needed to finish paying off Aaron and Kari's home, as it is possible that ramifications could include necessitating a move for their family. Again, there is no expectation of reaching that number; any and all assistance is accepted with utmost gratitude.
God bless, and thank you for your time and your prayers.
