20 years ago, just when my college journey was getting near its end, I was forced to drop out due to finances. For some reason, I decided to go back to school at nearly 50 years old! And again, I'm faced with challenges paying for the semester. I've exhausted all of the traditional forms of funding, and have received a few scholarships, but I still don't have enough to cover the expenses for the current semester. My plan is to look for more scholarships over the summer to pay for fall semester, but I want to get through the current semester. Your help would get me through this semester and allow me to finish my last two semesters toward graduation!
I face a number of challenges, disabilities, and dialysis twice per week, but I am resilient and dedicated to my education. My degree will be in Africana Studies in which I currently have a GPA of 3.85. I would like the help of my community that has helped me in so many ways already. Achieving this goal would improve the quality of my life and push me further toward my goal of going to graduate school and becoming a college professor.
Your help would mean the world to me, and would allow your generosity to sustain itself in a current climate that doesn't seem to value knowledge, education, and critical thinking. You would help me be a force to counter that dismal climate and push for a better future. Please help with anything you are able and I will go on to finish my last two semesters strong. Thank you!
