Assist a Dedicated Parent in Car Repair Battle

Donation protected

Hello,
I am a child of the Almighty God first and foremost. I am passionate about helping others, serving my church family and friends, and most importantly providing for my 4 kids as a single parent. Recently I have been under attack in a lot of ways and its getting real hard. There has been health complications due to stress, transition in between jobs as I had to separate from a company that provided a very toxic environment, to one not making as much but peaceful. The list goes on, but Im remaining hopeful and strong.

I took my vehicle to a local repair shop after a warning light came on the dashboard. Mechanic told me it was one thing/ charged me, then another, later to say he wasn't sure and will need to get inside to engine to inspect. Unfortunately he removed the top half of my engine and didn't tell me he needed to remove and or break 30+ other items to do so, resulting in $7k worth of charges. Once I declined to have him do any further work and asked that he return it how he received- minus the work I authorized and already paid for- he told me he can't put it back because the pieces are broken and now need replacing. Suggested giving me parts in box, have car towed, but get bricks to support behind tires so it doesn't roll away (it can't be turned on or changed gears to park according to tech).....I didn't drive my car to shop in this condition.

I have had to file a claim with the Bureau of Automotive Repair- they updated me it can take a month or so for their investigation. They also can't give legal advise. Therefore Im searching for legal counsel too. In the meantime I need to remove my vehicle from that shop. Tech advised I still owe them $1278 for "inspection and other work that I didn't authorize" regardless. Although this is not right, and I will be taking him to court over this as well- I can't pay another $1278. Ive already had a rental car for 3 weeks now, paid this tech $600 for bogus services thus far, alongside roughly $1300 in other transportation/ repair fees, and don't have anything else to give. However he wants the money to release the vehicle. I need help in getting car back while searching for legal support. Please assist me in this battle.

I understand that I will still need to get the car put back together and will have to pay some auto shop to do so. Ive informed other shops of the case, and showed the list of items the tech stated needs replacing now, and Ive heard it can get done for about $4k- which is less than the $7k quote he gave AFTER he took my car apart. I don't know this will happen but I know it will. I just need to first move from this malpractice shop first.

Any amount to donate is a blessing as I need to move forward quickly, as there is no gift that's too small. Thank you and God bless.
