This fundraiser is for my brother, Lawrence Day AKA Larry.

In January of 2025, Larry underwent emergency ostomy surgery. In June 2025, he had to return for what was intended to be an ostomy reversal. However, that turned out to be a procedure to clear a blockage and repair a hernia, resulting in a second ostomy surgery. He was scheduled for a reversal on September 29, 2025, which was expected to be the simplest of the three surgeries. Instead of a three-day hospital stay, Larry finds himself still hospitalized. He developed a second MRSA infection, and doctors had to intervene to reassemble his intestines. After which, he's been reliant on machines and medication.

Furthermore, the arthritis he already contends with has been wreaking havoc on his body. He's been unable to take any arthritis medication due to concerns about potential internal bleeding.

It's been a long and arduous journey.

On a positive note, he is out of the ICU and has been medically cleared for transport to the rehab floor within the hospital.

While the arthritis pain is manageable, pain from the surgeries is considerably more intense. And Larry requires intensive physical and occupational therapies, which will result in a longer hospital stay.

We are fundraising to support Larry's medical expenses and extended hospital stay.
