I've been out as trans for 5 years but have dealt with chest dysphoria since puberty. I remember even before I knew I was trans or understood what dysphoria was that I wanted to have a flat chest, and the discomfort became more severe as I grew older. It's something that's on my mind almost daily at this point, and within the past few years after doing a lot of research and speaking with therapists, I've decided that top surgery would be the right choice for me. I have always been anxious about looking into the procedure, mainly because I would need to be on testosterone for about a year for many insurance companies to accept me, and at this moment I don't believe that HRT is right for me.

I thought that I didn't have much of an option for top surgery until I recently discovered a surgeon who will work without the previous requirements, and I was finally able to secure an appointment for October 2nd.

This surgery costs 5900 USD, and I've already paid the down payment of 500 USD. I will have until September 18th (2 weeks before my operation date) to pay off the remainder of 5400. The remaining 1550 in this campaign will cover:

- 700 USD flight tickets for my roommate and I to fly to the surgery location

-500 USD weeklong airbnb costs (I will need to stay in the area for 1 week for a post-op appointment)

~350 USD weeklong rental car costs

I will be taking commissions to cover some of these costs later in the year, but paying for this fully within the timeframe would likely cause some severe burnout from overworking myself to pay off this surgery while also trying to keep myself afloat ie. rent/groceries/etc.
