On Tuesday, September 2, in the middle of the night, ICE agents came and detained my brother under false pretenses. My family has been devastated. We have lost our core, our strength, and our everything.
My brother was seen in court in July where a motion of stay and a monitor was required of him, which he complied with every demand that was made by immigration. We were advised that if his case was open, he would be protected. That was a lie.
My brother spent his first two days at the Miramar location where he was not provided with any human necessities. He was transferred to Krome in the middle of the night, where he is currently now in a tent. Immigration is not playing fair. We have taken all the right steps and have complied with everything that has been asked of us.
In order for my brother to have a chance not to be deported to Haiti, a country that is in shambles as we speak, we need to file an emergency motion of stay. He has an amazing lawyer that has been working on this process with him for the last 5 years. The emergency motion of stay is $10,450. While my family is trying our best, unfortunately, due to the sudden occurrence and the time factor in this case, we need assistance.
My family is usually a very private family, but we need help from the community. This might not be your brother now, but this new administration is not playing fair. Your family can be in the same shoes if you’re a product of immigrants; immigrants who came here for a better life. Immigrants that have been working, slaving away to provide and add to the economy.
As much as it pains me to have to do this, we’re asking for help. Aspens David is a loving husband, an amazing son, a phenomenal brother, and most importantly, the best uncle and role model to his nieces and nephews that look up to him.
I want to say thank you in advance for your help at this time to bring our loved one home where he belongs.
I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart! We appreciate every donation, no matter what it is. May God bless you! And may God bless the American people that are also going through this!
