My name is Xaver. After finishing my A-levels, I spent six months doing voluntary service in Ghana, where I worked as a teacher in an orphanage and lived with a local Ghanaian host family in a small rural village called Asoutwene.
During that time, I fell in love with the country—the positivity of the people, the incredible hospitality of my host family, and the generosity and warmth I experienced every day. These memories stayed with me, and even 13 years later, I am still in close contact with my friends in Asoutwene. Now, it’s finally time for me to return and visit them again.
My host mother, Gifty, is a kindergarten teacher at a local public school. I have visited the kindergarten myself, and sadly, the children’s conditions are far from ideal. The school lacks basic resources such as toys, books, and learning equipment. As a public school in one of the less wealthy areas of Ghana, funding is extremely limited—and even Ghanaian television has reported on the poor conditions in public community schools in this region.
This is why I want to help.
I will personally bring donations to support the kindergarten and make sure the children receive what they truly need. I’m contributing myself, and I’d love to give you the opportunity to join me in making a direct and meaningful impact.
Below is an example of how your donation could be used:
Set of Toys – €30
Set of Exercise Book – €15
School uniform – €5
Lunch – €2
Every contribution, no matter the size, every share, helps improve daily life for these children and gives them a better start in their education. Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
PS: Please feel free to message me if you’d like photos of the children happily receiving the donations.
