Asking once again for your help

Hi guys, on October 28, 2024, I head back into the O.R. for my 19th surgery, this one to remove both my left and right pectoral/breast muscles including some serious skin grafts. I’m looking at the most radical surgery so far. This is all a result of two malignant cancer tumors removed on each side at different times going back to 2021 and 2022, just a centimeter from each muscle. As my surgeon informed me prior to both surgeries that ‘there are no guarantees that the cancer won’t come back’.

The recovery time is approximately 8 weeks with no lifting, carrying or undue stress in that area. Two shunts will be implanted one on each side to drain any fluid that may collect and a follow up surgery to remove them.

I know my asks are getting old and boring and might make some of you angry, but I’m trying my best to deal with this all and I absolutely never contemplated that I would need to have both pectoral/breasts removed. It’s humiliating for me to even talk about it. However, as I’ve mentioned before, my doctors insist that every surgery gives me more time and for that I am blessed/thankful.

Looking at the many pre-op and post-op appointments, the co-pays, day of surgery co-pay, transportation, medications, drugstore supplies, hospital stay if needed and whatever else the surgical staff recommends or any temporary help I may need getting groceries to me or getting my laundry done, I fall short in having enough funds available to see me through this life changing surgery.

I am truly scared this time around, more so than all the others. But I trust this surgeon and my care team and know that they will do their very best.

So, please if you are able, donate anything you can. I am humbled by your continued support and generosity. I hate asking again, even more than I hate cancer itself, but I must.
