Asking for helping hands for our mother, Eva Louie

Donation protected
Recently our precious mother Eva was diagnosed with terminal gallbladder cancer in early September 2019. We are looking for financial donations to help with all of her needs. Unfortunately, the hospital has done all they can to stay in front of the cancer and she has been released to hospice care. All of her children have taken time off of work, adjusted their schedules and are by her bedside around the clock to make sure she has the best care available along with being comfortable. Hospice has been a huge help throughout this process, and we couldn’t do this without their care, love and compassion.

Since the passing of our father in 1990, our mom has been on a limited income and all of us are doing our best financially to assist, but eventually its all going to catch up and we will fall behind. Any donation that you can afford would be greatly appreciated so we can help pay for her immediate needs now; Providence Hospital medical bills, food, utilities, upcoming funeral cost and anticipated property taxes on her home.

About our mom, she is a strong, amazing 85 year old and is the 4th youngest of 10 kids. While always putting others first, she has always been independent raising 4 children on her own as our father ran his restaurant business, which meant we only saw him on weekends while he was working. Dad provided and mom rolled up her sleeves to make sure we had what we needed. Our oldest brother Andy, who is 60 years old, is Special Needs. He has to have 24-hour supervision, which mom held that responsibility his entire life and we know it breaks her heart, as she is not able to do this any longer.  They have always been joined together at the hip.

Mom has always enjoyed life especially doing some of her favorite things such as walking to most of her destinations, going to the mall just about everyday, reading the local newspaper at the library or Safeway while catching up on all the latest gossip, watching CNN for hours, listening to music and often talking to strangers at the bus stop because she loves people.

Our fondest memories include everything we did growing up, all of our activities that we did as a family and the friends we were allowed to bring along. A few included our family picnics in the baseball field at Powell’s Park, Friday night arcade night downtown before jumping on a Greyhound bus to McMinnville to see our dad, movies at the Mt. Tabor and Avalon Theaters, and taking the monkey trails down to Oaks Amusement Park. Mom welcomed everybody and she treated each like they were one of her kids even if she didn't approve of some of them. She enjoyed making sure everyone was happy.  If you met our mom for the first time you would want to give her a hug and not let go. She is just that sweet.

As we do this journey together as a family, we ask for your kind donation.  We have always been an independent family, but today we need your help. Please pass this along to anyone you know who may want to help.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
