I need help! I know this is a long post but unfortunately it is the only way I can try to reach out to my neighbors. I will do my best to keep it as short as possible. This is my first time ever creating a GoFundme page. I reached out a couple years back through our community in hope of finding a loving home for a dog I rescued years ago. I was truly skeptical if I would have any hope, but was blown away by the kindness I received from our neighborhood. I know quite a few of you in our neighborhood and you know me. I have been doing dog rescue for over 20 years. It is a passion of mine that I take into serious consideration, and it is some thing I do on the side. This neighborhood has been absolutely wonderful and I see people helping people every day. So with many weeks of contemplating if I should try this being scared that I might fail at it. I’ve decided that if I do fail at it, it’s not the worst that could happen. A couple weeks ago I met a neighbor of ours, a younger man in his early 30s, who rescued a dog when he himself had nothing. He’s had this dog for about a year now and this dog has been his savior. After meeting this dog, I realized the connection these two had and I was determined to try to help him and his dog. Through rescue I have had many resources, but after Covid, I lost many. This young man has not asked me for a single penny, has not brought any attention to how little he has. I have secretly been doing my research and trying to help in every which way that I could. He works full-time and when I say full-time, I mean full-time 12 hour days. He was homeless for a very long time and he lost his car transportation to and from work. He walks from Sunnyvale to San Jose at 3 o’clock in the morning and starts walking back home around 10 at night. It is him and his dog and that is it. This dog needs so much Training he’s not vicious in any way. He is a complete puppy with absolutely no training. I have tried to taking the dog to work on training since I have worked with dogs for so long and unfortunately, this dog needs 24/7 training to become the dog that he can be be . It is him and his dog and that is it. This dog was chained outside on a chain all day long for the first year of his life. To find a dog like that with absolutely no aggression is a miracle.. he is absolutely and completely loving and a big goofball, and just wants attention more than anything. I am so determined to give this dog that type of life so he can now live inside an apartment and not be stuck outside. This young man has tackled getting a roof over his head and a place where his dog and him can be warm. To afford the rent it means every single cent goes towards the rent. But at this point, it means the dog would be in a cage because he has no training and will tear the place up. The man does not want this for this dog, and he’s trying everything in his well-being to change the situation. Having no car and no money because everything goes towards the cost to put a roof over their head, he is very limited. But he still will not ask for a penny from anyone. I have watched this young men help others in need, even if it meant sacrificing himself. He has a heart of gold and has been given unforeseen circumstances. I have decided that I have given everything I can and I unfortunately don’t have enough as I am going through what most of us are going through living here in the bay area. So for the first time I am reaching out to strangers in hopes that, they are willing to help a Neighboor of their own. I have not told him that I am doing this because again I am scared of failing and us not raising anything. I’m hoping that some neighbors that do know me and know the type of person I am will comment on this post. I am scared that if I tell him he will tell me no, and or if I don’t raise any money for him, going back to him and telling him that unfortunately it didn’t work would just be another sad situation. so, I’m hoping that there are people out there that trust and believe that a simple five dollars can make a difference in someone’s life and that maybe I can raise enough to keep a roof over his head and this dog from going to the shelter. Maybe where he can buy cheap transportation so he can get to and from work and see what a little bit of life being normal is like. PLEASE, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send me a message. And if you think you can go without your coffee tomorrow for a young man in such desperate need, thank you. Him and I are both Christian and we have continue to pray, and we do trust that the Lord has a reason for everything. I just want to try and help another neighbor. Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to read this. If giving a donation is not your thing and a gift card to Safeway or a pet store is more of some thing that resonates with you that is absolutely fine too.
