Help Ask Carol go on our first ever US Tour

Hi, we are Ask and Carol of Ask Carol, the indie rock duo from Norway, with the Backyard Jam videos and Cowchella, playing music for our neighbors cows. We are so glad that you are here! <3

At the beginning of this year, we got the amazing news that after a whole year of hard work and a lot of waiting, our US work visa was finally approved! All is now set for us to embark on our very first US Tour.

(NOTE: This campaign is in NOK, Norwegian krone, not USD. 100 NOK = 10 USD, approximately.)

Thank you so much to all of you who have sent us city and venue suggestions and requests, it is really helpful. We will try to include as many as possible!

HERE IS THE PLAN:

This Spring, we will start the US Tour Part 1, on February 28th. It will last until June 29th.

Places included in Part 1 so far (More to come!) are: New York, Philly, Lafayette, Austin, Boise (Treefort), Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Nevada City, Los Angeles, Arizona, Silver City, Denver, Sturgeon Bay, Milwaukee, and more.

In September, we will start US Tour Part 2. In Part 2 we will include as many of the places we did not have time for in Part 1 as possible, as well as revisit some of the places with the most requests.

For the second part, we have the opportunity to extend the tour all the way until 2025, and the more we get in donations here, the longer we can make the tour – and the more places we’ll be able to go!

So, this campaign is for the FULL TOUR, both Part 1 and Part 2. The full length of the tour, and how many places we'll visit, fully depends on the donations, support and how much interest we get.

THE COSTS

Touring definitely isn't cheap. The biggest costs we need to cover are:

Car and gas

Hotels/accommodation

Food and drink

Plane tickets

Visa and work permission fees for the US (over $6000)

This is what the donations will be spent on.

We also want to bring you guys some merch while we are there, so we plan on making T-shirts and CDs.

This tour is 100% DIY, and for medical reasons, Carol will be the only one driving. Because Carol is both driving, performing and working the social media (and more!), it is obvious that we will need some off-days/driving days in between concerts. We want to keep the DIY style as long as we can, as that gives us more freedom, we can go where ever you guys, our fans, want us to come, and also, we'll be free to get a better connection with you guys!

VIDEOS

While we are touring and playing concerts, we want to continue playing and filming outside in nature, and keep doing the Desert Jams, Cowchella, and of course the Backyard Jam US edition. That's why we have left some days between shows. This way, even when we're not playing in your area, you'll get our videos delivered straight to your feed (if the algorithms do their job, that is, haha). These videos will also need to be edited and audio mixed, which we'll need at least 2-3 days a week to do. How many of these we can do, depends on how much we get in donations, as those will be days we're not getting paid by a venue to play.

In addition, we'll film all our concerts, and share some highlight moments with you guys, on YouTube, Facebook etc.

For filming we have 1 Fuji camera, 2 old Go Pro cameras (a 5 and a 7 which works about 70% of the time), and our two cell phones (if we get enough donations, we might upgrade to a GoPro that does not turn itself off mid-concert, haha :P).

We also have a small, but good, mobile audio recording rig, giving us the opportunity to make professional sounding high quality audio for our videos.
