Building Hope for Hilltribe Orphans

Hi everyone! After returning from a surreal trip to Asia, I feel compelled to invite you all to join me in a cause that has profoundly touched my heart.

My recent backpacking trip through Southeast Asia unveiled a world of resilience and beauty, eventually leading me to Northern Thailand where my perspective on life was forever altered. Back in 2005, my parents started Asia's Hope Thailand, a not-for-profit dedicated to rescuing hundreds of orphans at high risk of being exploited and abused in child labor, drug, and sex trade industries. They now run 10 homes in Thailand, providing family-style sanctuaries and education opportunities for close to 300 abandoned hill tribe children in need of our help. The reality is, that Northern Thailand is home to many ethnic minorities (“hill tribes”) — each unique in language, culture, and spirit — facing challenges of political oppression and generational poverty. These growing issues leave thousands of hill tribe children highly vulnerable, without parents, education, or hope for a better life.

After only mere moments with these children, my heart filled with pure joy and gratitude. Despite having faced numerous adversities, they exhibit more grace and optimism than anyone I know. The constant smile on their faces is a priceless gift to witness and one we can significantly enhance by joining hands and supporting Asia's Hope.

The Cause: The money will go directly to Asia’s Hope Thailand and will help them continue to operate their many orphan homes. For instance, one home urgently requires $10,700 to comply with governmental housing standards, crucial for its ongoing operations. Notably, these funds will play a pivotal role in constructing an infirmary desperately needed by Home 1, a residence of over 150 children and staff. Picture eight rooms, each accommodating about 16 kids in bunkbeds and very cramped conditions. Additional funds are also needed for children doing their post-secondary vocational or university studies, enabling job opportunities they could not otherwise have.
