My name is Loy Chuan Jie aka Jack and I'm currently a student at Iowa State University. I have been playing ultimate frisbee competitively for 4 years now. I began playing ultimate with my local club team (Badgers) in Malaysia and eventually went on to representing Malaysia at the U24 World Championships in 2018 at Perth Australia. I've also had the privilege of playing with USAU college and men's club teams in Ames, Iowa which has allowed me to improve so much more.
After my basketball career, ultimate frisbee became a sport that I'm very passionate about because of the very essence of the game itself. I love it to the core from its high competitiveness to the spirit of the game, and with teams and players that I have trained with for the most part of my ultimate frisbee career. My goal is to continue to keep growing as an ultimate athlete, eventually giving back to my community and inspiring those around me.
This year I have been selected to be part of the Malaysian National Men's team to compete at the Asia-Oceanic Ultimate Championships in Shanghai, China on July 23-27. Due to my college career and having to travel back home to train with my teammates, finances have definitely taken a toll on me. Flights alone would cost $1500. However, I do not want this to be something that stops me from achieving my goals, and with your help, I can do that!
With your kind assistance I will be able to go home and train with my team, travel to China and compete with them against the best in the region. Even as little as $5 goes a long way! Do consider helping me in my cause.
