*UPDATE 01/12/2022* a local garage owner has offered to pay for the repair to Matt’s car after he heard about the story on WCCO news last night.
We readjusted the goal amount to reflect only the stolen equipment (from $8K to $6,500)

Hi my name is Derick G. I have a good buddy named Matt who has fallen victim to a senseless Asian hate crime here in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Matt and I are part of a volunteer group called Twin Cities Relief Initiative (TCRI), formerly known as Twin Cities Stand Together (TCST). Our group is comprised of locals from all background and walks of life that was born in response to the the uprise and aftermath of the George Floyd murder. We stood side-by-side, day after day, month after month volunteering helping the feed and provide essentials in the Twin City locals in need.
A few nights ago Matt was at a local family owned restaurant and when he came back out to his vehicle it was vandalized and ram sacked. On the side his car the offender wrote "CHINA VIRUS" along with some other unknown emblem or insignia. Inside of Matt's car was trashed and all of his Camera equipment including lenses, memory cards, camera ect. were stolen.
Help me raise funds to get his car repaired and attempt to replace some of his camera equipment he uses for his work/lively hood. His insurance will only cover so much of the damage and virtually none of the Camera equipment due to policy rules. Matt filed a police report but there was nothing much they can do as there was no eyewitnesses or cameras that caught the perpetrators.
Matt transports his son in this car and is now having to cover it up with some tarp to avoid embarrassment and having to explain what happened to his 7 year old.
