Dear Family and Friends,

Over the course of the years that I have been saved, I have had a desire to vocation in something that could be used to make an impact for God’s Kingdom. My ambitions went from wanting to be a doctor, to a lawyer, to a teacher, back to a lawyer, then to a business administrator, but after much prayer, counsel, providential circumstances, living in the inner city and having the opportunity to care for and minister to kids, I have come to the conclusion that I would find the most joy in becoming a teacher. More specifically, I desire to be an inner city teacher who serves in an underserved community while bringing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

 Lord willing, this fall I will be attending Boyce College, the undergraduate school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Louisville, KY. I will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Teaching Education.

It’s my heart’s desire to attend Boyce because of their distinct view of education. Boyce College is academically challenging, serious about the Gospel and trains students to engage the culture and the world from a convictional and biblical worldview. I love what they stand for!

Once I receive my degree, I hope to teach in public or private school systems in the inner city. I want to not only bring the Gospel to the students but also to their parents/guardians. It’s amazing how much teachers and families interact with each other. When you’re a school teacher you interact with the parents on many different levels. PTA meetings, Parent-Teaching Conferences, Book Fairs, Home Visits, and much more! Those are all amazing ways to get involved, not only in the lives of the students, but also the lives of the parents/guardians.

I want to be a part of God’s mission and big plan for the inner city and I believe teaching is one of the platforms that God wants me to use to make disciples for His glory (Matthew 28:19-20). I believe that God has many people in the inner city who are called to be His (Acts 18:10). But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? The only way they are going to hear about Jesus is if people go to be His witnesses (Romans 10:14-15).

I believe that God has called me to go teach in the inner city. I love the inner city. I love children. I love Jesus! I want to bring them the unfailing hope, love, and joy that can only be found in Christ! Would you prayerfully consider financially supporting me? Thank you for taking the time to read this!
