Ashton's Hearing Aids Fund

I will start by telling a little about our family. My name is Jennifer and I am 32 yrs old and my husband Eric is 35, we have been together for 11 years and married for 5. We have two amazing boys Ashton age 9 and Mason age 7. Ashton was born in 2007 after a perfect pregnancy and was a happy healthy baby. Around 6 months we began noticing he was showing regression in some of his acquired skills and kept a close eye on things. A little later we became surprised with the pregnancy of our second son Mason who was born in 2009. At about 3 months the doctor noticed Mason needed to wear a helmet to reshape his skull so we started the process of fitting and measuring for that. In the mean time Ashton had really began to show strong signs of autism and we began the process of getting him evaluated. Fast forward a bit and Mason is now out of his helmet with little to no after effects (thank God) and Ashton is now beginning preschool (3yrs) on an IEP to help with his social skills. We felt that things were going great and decided to try for another baby....without going into that loooong story sadly we experienced 13 losses between 2011 and 2016. I truly feel now that God's reasoning was for me to be here 100% for the two amazing boys I already have! I fell in 2015 and suffered a severe concussion with brain bleeds and now experience vertigo and lost my sense of smell which we are currently trying to get under control. Mason has just been diagnosed with scoliosis and asymmetry of his legs which is now starting a new string of doctor visits. On top of everything else going on which seems like we are drowning we just found out a huge shocker that Ashton needs hearing aids!! His hearing is currently at a mild sloping to moderate loss and the doctor said that most of what he is missing out on is normal speech and mainly consonant sounds. He has really relied on lip reading and other acquired coping skills he has taught himself. I feel like such a horrible parent for missing this and I am trying not to beat myself up about it but that is hard. We go on December 19th for him to be fitted for them and they informed me ahead of time that the most basic type of pediatric hearing aids he requires will run at minimum of $3,500!! Unfortunately our insurance won't even cover one penny of that?! I am BEGGING anyone to donate even one dollar towards this to help us out! Even if you are unable to donate please please please share!! Ashton has been dealt a tough hand in life and he hasn't let autism slow him down and we refuse to let this either! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I'm sorry if I rambled I just wanted our real story to be heard ❤️
