Robert's campaign for Macmillan Cancer Support
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
Personally, I had testicular cancer in 2012 and it was a scary time. I was 22 years old, extremely fit and healthy and a serving member of the Royal Navy Submarine Service. The doctors at HMS Naval base Drake at the time, worked extremely fast in conjunction with Derriford Hospital in Plymouth to limit and ultimately remove the cancer. The oncology department and Macmillian professionals at Derriford hospital collectively supported me throughout this difficult period of my life.
With this said, cancer has effected many of our friends and family. At this current time of writing, our Auntie Debbie is fighting her battle with aggressive stomach cancer. She has been so incredibly strong for herself and her family. Debbie is currently being supported by the Macmillian professionals at the Nuffield Hospital in Plymouth. It is the wish of the family to give back to this fantastic charity. Love to you Uncle Robert, Billy, Maisie, Jack and Debbie's sister Nell.
Debbie and Robert supported me at Weymouth 70.3 Ironman in 2018 where there was horrendous weather conditions for racing. I never got to finish the race and we all ended up soaking wet.
Tonight at 7pm I want to show my support for Auntie Debbie. I am going to cycle throughout the night to climb the height of Mount Everest via the virtual cycling platform of Zwift. I will need to climb 8848 meters in total. It is estimated that it should take 10 hours to complete. I will be live on YouTube throughout the night.

More information about Macmillan Cancer Support: Macmillan nurses, doctors and health professionals will continue to support people living with cancer whilst doing all they can to help alleviate the immense strain put on the NHS by coronavirus.
