Ashoka needs heart surgery to live a full life

Hi- my name is Ashoka.

Isn’t that a cool name! I’m named after a brave warrior from Star Wars. Right now, I am trying to be as brave as she. See, I’m just a year old and usually very happy and brave. Mid-Atlantic Jack Rescue (MAJR) saved me from a very scary shelter. I was there because my owners found out that I have a heart problem and they just left me. My foster dad saw my picture, read about me, and told my friend Meg from MAJR that I could live with him while my heart problem got fixed. Dad is very fun, and he is so good to me. We run and play, we cuddle, and he even lets me sleep on his couch.

The other day, my dad took me to see a vet who is an expert on heart problems. He was very nice, and I had a lot of tests.

The news from the tests was not so good. I have a hole in my heart! If it does not get fixed, I won’t be around very long. There is an operation that will fix the hole, and I will be fine. This operation is very expensive and MAJR is hoping that some of you will help them pay for it. It will cost almost $7,000. to fix my heart’s hole. Once it’s done I will be ok and be around cuddling, running, and playing for a long time.

So, please, if you can, could you send a little to help pay to fix the hole. Right now, even with a hole my heart is full of love and hope.
