On March 10th our beautiful Ashlyn headed to the ER in Tucson, suspecting a blood clot due to arm discoloration and swelling of her right arm. Soon her fears were confirmed that she had a blood clot under her right collarbone and was quickly sent to surgery the next day. After nearly 4 hours of surgery, the surgeon shared with us she had removed a 3.5 inch blood clot completely and diagnosed her with Paget Shroetter Syndrome, but would need two more surgeries, one to remove the 1st rib and nearby muscle that were compressing the vein, and a third surgery to go into the vein and remove scar tissue. After these surgeries, they’ll be looking into the left side to make sure this isn’t happening on the other side of her body. She is still very sore from the two incision sites, (groin and arm) and still has quite a bit of discoloration as her vein is still currently compressed. Her second surgery is in two weeks. All of this has been quite a hit to her emotionally and financially as she is not able to do what she loves currently, her career as a hairstylist! After her second surgery she will have two weeks of bed rest and then two weeks of relearning how to use her arm, followed by months of of physical therapy on the road to healing. Since they’re taking both the rib and muscle, we are not when she will regain full mobility and be able to return to work. This GoFundMe is being set up to help her financially through this difficult time so she can focus on healing. We appreciate your prayers, sharing this fundraiser, and donations for Ash. Thank you!
