Ashley's Medical Journey

Donation protected
My name is Brittany, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my sister, Ashley — a wife, a mother of two teenage boys, and someone I love with every piece of my heart. This past year has broken her down in ways I never imagined. She hasn’t been able to work since last December, and every day has become a fight for her health, her stability, and her family. Medical bills, travel expenses, testing, medications, and daily living costs have piled up faster than she can keep up. Ashley’s Medical Journey So far, Ashley has been diagnosed with POTS, Dysautonomia, and Fibromyalgia, and her medical journey is far from over. She has multiple appointments scheduled at Mayo Clinic, with continued care planned from December through February, as doctors work to better understand her condition and determine the best path forward. Ashley lives between good days and bad days. On her better days, she’s able to tolerate things a little more she may smile, talk, and try to be present even though I know she is often hiding just how much pain she’s truly in. Then there are the hard days. Days when the pain is unbearable. Days when she needs a walker just to get around. Days when every time she stands up, she blacks out, and her body simply won’t cooperate. There are countless complications that come with these conditions; moments filled with fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty that are impossible to fully explain unless you’re living them. Watching my sister endure this has been heartbreaking, especially knowing how hard she tries to push through it all. On top of everything, Ashley has multiple medical appointments every week and receives infusions twice a week — treatments that help support her body and give her moments of strength and stability as she continues to fight for answers. A Family Holding On by Threads Ashley’s husband is doing everything he possibly can to keep their family together. He works six days a week, then comes home to care for Ashley and support their two teenage boys. He is exhausted and stretched beyond what any one person should have to carry, yet he never stops showing up for them. Their boys have been forced to grow up far too fast. They’ve had to learn things no teenager should ever have to learn: How to call 911 What to say to emergency dispatchers How to handle their mom’s seizures How to position her safely until help arrives No teenager should have to rehearse emergency procedures for their own mother. No boy should have to wonder if today will be another emergency day. They just want their mom to get better. They want their family to breathe again. They want to feel safe. Why We’re Asking for Help Ashley has an incredibly important appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, with continued care planned through February. We are looking for support to help Ashley continue her medical journey to ensure she can access the care, treatments, and evaluations she urgently needs at this stage of her health. Your generosity will help cover: * Travel to Mayo Clinic (gas, lodging, meals) * Diagnostic testing and evaluations * Specialist appointments * Medications * Emergency medical costs * Past-due medical bills * Essential living expenses while she remains unable to work Ashley cannot do this alone, and her family is carrying more than they can manage. This support would allow her to keep moving forward toward answers, stability, and healing. Your Support Means Everything Your donation will help: Get Ashley to her Mayo Clinic appointments Cover crucial testing and treatment Pay for necessary medications Support her family while she cannot work Give her teenage boys stability and peace Ease the heavy weight on her husband’s shoulders And even if you’re unable to provide financial assistance, please feel free to share Ashley’s story. Sharing means more than you know and helps reach others who may be able to help. You aren’t simply donating or sharing you’re giving a family hope, relief, and the chance for healing. From Me, as Her Sister It is devastating to watch someone you love suffer like this to watch her lose her strength, her independence, and her sense of normalcy piece by piece. Ashley is tired. She is overwhelmed. She is scared. But she is still fighting mostly for her boys. She would never ask for help, so I am asking for her. She deserves answers. She deserves relief. She deserves hope. And her boys deserve to see their mom healthy again. If you can donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can’t, sharing her story means just as much. Your kindness truly helps change her life.
