Ashley's Medical Fund Wedding Gift

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to read about my dear friend Ashley and the journey she has been on over the last 2 months.  For the last year Ashley has been planning her wedding (really 9 years in the making of high school sweethearts) like any bride to be; picking out the flowers, trying on her dress, and finding the perfect location.  Within one day she went from dreaming of her wedding gown to wearing a medical gown.  Ashley suffered from a headache that lasted for weeks, all the while she pushed on to provide her kiddo's with autism the therapy they needed.  Soon however, Ashley began to lose her vision, and one ER visit later; she was told she had a mass lesion towards the back of her brain.  Within weeks all of her plans were put on hold as her vision became worse and she became a frequent flyer to Kaiser.  Within days she was scheduled to have the tumor removed and it was done so with success.  There was hope she may be able to keep her wedding scheduled for October 25th.  Within a few days she was forced to return to the hospital to find out that she now had a cerebral spinal fluid leak, and needed to have another surgery to repair the leak followed by lying on her back for 5 days with a shunt to drain the fluid.  Ashley’s fiancé Cody was by her side the entire time and with the love and support of her friends and family, Ashley was able to leave the hospital on Monday October 24th.  Within 24 hours her family and friends pulled together to give Ashley a small family wedding at her Aunt’s house.  She looked absolutely beautiful!  Now Mr. & Mrs. De La Mater are ready to start their new life as husband and wife.  Unfortunately, they are starting it with a world of medical debt on their shoulders.  I am here to ask if you have any amount you can share to give this couple the opportunity to have a fresh start; I would be so thankful as I know Ashley and her husband Cody would be.  I joked with them, that if I could buy Kaiser gift cards I would; but I am hoping this is a close second.  Again, thank you for taking the time to hear about an amazing couple who have already conquered “in sickness and in health”, I would forever be grateful if we can try to get them through “for richer or for poorer”!

Best Wishes,
Jennifer Vallejos
