Help Support Ashley’s Legacy: Xander’s College Fund

On August 13, 2025, our hearts were broken when Ashley Marie (Malpass) Ligon, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. She was only 37 years old.

Ashley’s life was a shining example of resilience, love, and kindness. She grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia, and went on to build a beautiful life with her husband, Chris. Together, they welcomed their greatest blessing—their son, Xander. Ashley poured her heart into motherhood, creating a home filled with laughter, devotion, and unconditional love.

Ashley was known for her warmth, compassion, and signature spark of sass. She survived a near-fatal brain tumor in 2011, carried her faith through every hardship, and touched countless lives with her humor, empathy, and generosity. She was also a fierce animal lover, a creative spirit who crafted beautiful resin art, and a loyal friend who made everyone feel valued.

Though Ashley’s time here was far too short, her love lives on in her family—especially in her cherished son, Xander.

Why We Are Asking for Help

Ashley always dreamed of giving Xander every opportunity in life, including the chance to pursue higher education. As we grieve this tremendous loss, we want to honor her legacy by ensuring that dream becomes reality.

We are creating this GoFundMe for Xander’s College Fund to support his future. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a direct investment in his education and a way to carry forward the love and hope Ashley had for her son’s life.
