Ashley's Journey with Colorectal Cancer

In 2018 at the age of 32 Ashley was diagnosed with colorectal cancer that has turned her and her family’s lives upside down. Ashley has devoted her life to her husband Donovan and to her two children Zander (11) and Milena (9). She is an amazing wife, mother, person, and friend, she would give you the shirt off her back.
Ashley has had three major surgeries since she has been diagnosed, including colorectal surgery, a total hysterectomy, and liver resection. She has also had many “littler” surgeries and countless rounds of chemotherapy. Recently, Ashley began reacting to the chemotherapy and it had to be stopped, during this very short time (3 weeks) cancer spread like wildfire. It spread to her adrenal gland, several lymph nodes, sacrum, and two spots were found on her liver and two spots in her abdomen. She also had a 100% bowel obstruction again, and has not eaten since. She is receiving nutrition through an IV. She was told she is at “the point” to write a will, get POA’s in place and meet with palliative care and hospice. During the last few weeks, Ashley has been in the hospital, she was home a few short days and became septic, we almost lost her. But not this girl, no way, her strength is incredible, she seriously is part superhuman or superhero, maybe both!! As I write this she is having nephrostomy tubes placed because her kidneys are not functioning properly.

I started this GoFundMe to try and ease their financial burden. Donovan has stopped working to take care of his family. He now plays the role of Dad, Mom, and caretaker. Donovan is a disabled Marine veteran who served with the 1st Battalion 6th Marines during Operation Iraqi Freedom. This family has sacrificed for us it is our turn to help them.
