As you know, my daughter Ashley has been sick for almost a year. Recently, they finally located the cancer in her bone marrow. Since April, she was started on a radiation compound and in May, more medications to help her get better. On top of this, she had emergency heart surgery on April 19th and contracted a blood infection that she is still fighting. She has currently undergone multiple blood transfusions to help her battle and are waiting on a match for bone marrow. As of now, her monthly medications outside of insurance is almost 5k on top of supporting our household. We have both drained our savings to stay afloat as well as her trying to work. As you can imagine, it's difficult for her to work under these circumstances, but she keeps trying. Currently, she is three weeks past her last refill due to this financial crisis. After looking at our Facebooks, between us, we have almost 2k friends. If everyone could pitch in $10, we could surpass this goal. This goal was set in mind to cover three months of medications and allow her to just focus on getting better and not working herself to death. We aren't sure what the next steps are as far as treatments go other than the bone marrow transplant. The goal might need to be adjusted in the future and we are also having talks about a fundraiser. But for now, hopefully we can raise some money to help her get back on these life saving medications as well as keep her from losing her home and everything she has worked so hard for.
