AshleyMae Sebastian's Miss Asian Global Pageant Fundraiser

Hello! My a name is AshleyMae Sebastian!

I am proud to announce that I am a delegate for the 39th Miss Asian Global pageant in 2024!

To some, this may come as a surprise, as I had always been adverse to anything that would bring any attention to myself. However, it has been seven years since I was initially scouted for this pageant, and I finally feel confident enough to present myself as I am now. Being a part of this is a testament to how far I have come as a person, and an opportunity for me to blossom out of my comfort zone.

Additionally, I am utilizing my platform to give a voice to Filipino tales and stories. Although there is a large Filipino community in the Bay Area and throughout the rest of the U.S., there is unfortunately not much known about our heritage. I aim to change this by introducing a broader audience to Filipino culture through the arts and storytelling. Collaborating with Josephine Byrnes, another great Filipino-American artist, we plan create a storybook about Maria Makiling, a guardian fairy of the Makiling mountains of the Luzon area in the Philippines. Once it is completed, we will visit libraries and schools to share her story with everyone.
