Ashley's Life Changing Kidney Transplant

Donation protected
My name is Ashley Bridwell.  I am 20 years old and was diagnosed with a very rare kidney disease called Cystinosis at the age of 16 months.  I was told I wouldn't live past 10.  Cystinosis affects all the organs of the body, kidneys are usually damaged first but it affects the liver, pancreas, eyes, etc. There is no cure for this disease, but there is research being done and they are working on a stem cell transplant that could possibly be a cure. I swallow 75 pills a day and have since I was 2 years old.  I am currently in end stage renal failure and awaiting a kidney transplant.  I had a donor but unfortunately he was disqualified for health issues.  My blood type is O so if you are healthy and have O blood type you can get tested to be a donor if you would like. I’am currently on peritoneal dialysis so it’s my life now sadly.
Cystinosis has affected my whole life.  I have to take eye drops every hour of the day while awake as the cystine in my body causes crystals to form on my cornea and will cause blindness if not taken. Cystinosis also affects your lungs and muscles/bones it can cause muscle weakness and softening of the bones. Our family is really struggling financially due to COVID etc. This money will be used to help with transplant finances such as gas, lodging for my mom to stay while I’m in the hospital in Houston, and food. Any help is not only appreciated, but a true gift from God. God Bless all of you who wish to donate.  Your prayers for our family are greatly appreciated.
