Hello Everyone - Meet Ashley!

Our 23-year-old sister that is the life of the party, a phenomenal single mother to her son Sincere, the youngest of five (and the only girl), and a go-getter who embarked on the path to her dreams of becoming a registered nurse and giving back to others.

Last night, Ashley was officially diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (M6) also known as AML. Our family is literally speechless and overwhelmed with various emotions, but we are trying to remain strong and more united than ever.

To give a little background to her story, since June 2018 Ashley has been complaining about constantly feeling weak and fatigued. We first thought she was "just coming down with the flu" until one day she was completely out of breath.  She visited the ER and was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis (an inflammatory disease that affects different parts of the body); the doctors prescribed her steroids. She was responding to the steroids, but it wasn't consistent. Her blood results came indicating that her red & white count blood count were abnormally low.

Mid-October 2018, her shortness of breath returned, she was once again becoming dizzy, tired, and continuously fatigued. The doctors ran more tests upon tests and when the results came in, they informed us that she has leukemia. The doctors performed a bone marrow biopsy in order to determine the exact type of leukemia she has - which is AML M6 (Acute Myeloid Leukemia).

Ashley has an 18-month old son, Sincere Silvio, who is unable to be at the hospital with her. Our family and friends have come together for support during this challenging time, but there is only so much we can do on our own because of our own personal family costs and obligations. The cost of dealing with medical bills, childcare, missing work, and a million other things is overwhelming and utterly draining.

As for chemotherapy treatments, there are 4 cycles; each cycle lasting longer than a month.

Today, October 24,2018, she started her first chemotherapy cycle and she is afraid. Afraid of the unknown; afraid of the strain this disease could potentially cause on her and the family; afraid of what her body will undergo; afraid of what's going to happen to Sincere and being away from him for extended periods of time.

We are asking for support from our friends and extended family to help alleviate some of the financial burden that Ashley will be soom be facing during and after her treatments. For all we know, cancer does not discriminate and is something nobody can fight alone!

Help us give hope!
Help us spread the word so that more people can get involved in this cause!

From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU!!
