Ashley's Cancer Journey

We're writing on behalf of our beautiful friend Ashley Miano, who is 27 years old, and was recently diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma.  The diagnosis has been determined to be between stages 3 and 4, and is growing very aggressively. Ashley has spent the past 3 months in and out of Dr’s appointments and undergoing invasive testing and procedures. She is extremely exhausted and overwhelmed with her life at this time. Ashley's Oncologist was able to devise a Chemotherapy treatment that would target the disease.  She is to have a port put in surgically this Friday, January 18th 2019. The Dr. would like to start Chemotherapy in approximately two weeks, however she has a hurdle that's in the way. Ashley's Oncologist has informed her that after Chemotherapy she may never be able to have children of her own. So, the Oncologist’s suggestion was to see a fertility Dr. and have some of her eggs stored for a later time, when she decides to have children. Unfortunately, Ashley was also informed that her insurance would not cover the cost of many of the procedures that are necessary.

Due to these unfortunate circumstances, we are asking for your help in raising the funds to help our friend be able to carry out her dream of being a mother one day.  The process with the fertility Dr. must begin immediately as it needs to be completed prior to chemotherapy. Time is of the essence right now because the cancer is rapidly growing.  As one would expect, Ashley and her mother, who has been by her side, have missed countless hours of work going back and forth to appointment after appointment. Ashley is loved by so many and she has been a source of strength in so many ways for us. We are asking that anyone who is able to help, to do so. We all have our struggles, and unity is what helps to get through those struggles. We are asking that whatever you can do, no matter how large or small, to please contribute. Anything would be received with gratitude and appreciation.
