Covid-19 relief fund for Ashley Yoes
Covid-19 has had devastating effects on so many in different ways. My sister-in-law, Ashley Yoes, is one of the many whose health has been effected by the virus.
Ashley began to experience symptoms, including severe fatigue and migranes, in early April, when she tested positive for Covid-19. She suffered these symptoms for several weeks. She started to show improvement, but in June, became sick again with similar and debilitating symptoms, making it difficult to perform even simple tasks. This time, however, the symptoms did not go away, and have since only worsened. In July, Ashley began to have some neurological issues, including loss of function and pain in her legs.
While she has not been admitted to the ICU, she has seen multiple doctors and physical therapists, all of whom have said the same thing: these symptoms are a side effect of Covid-19, but they don't know more than that. After numerous appointments with doctors in Baton Rouge, Ashley eventually ended up being seen at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. At the Mayo Clinic, she has undergone a battery of tests, which are not only physically painful and traumatic, but are also out of network, costly, and ongoing.
If you know Ashley, you know that she is one of the most kind, accepting, and sincere people you will ever meet. She and her husband, Brandon (my brother) are the first to help out anyone who needs it. Their faith in God and love for Jesus is evident in every aspect of their life, and they routinely pour their love and labor into our community wherever there is a need. On a regular basis, I tell people that I have the best sister-in-law and I really don't know how I got so lucky....that it feels like she is my blood and has always been my sister. She has made my world brighter and better, as she has for so many, and has routinely taken on difficult tasks that no one else was willing to do, just because it had to be done.
It has been gut-wrenching to see Ashley suffer crippling effects of a virus that doctors are only just learning about and know little of. The unknown is terrifying, the pain is real, and the costs are mounting.
Ashley and Brandon have three young boys, ages 2, 5 and 7. This experience has had profound and devastating effects on the entire family, as they struggle to keep up with even basic daily tasks and routines.
The money collected here will go to medical bills and costs associated with treatment, as well as childcare.
Please consider donating to Ashley and her family. No one is more deserving of your good will.
Ashley is the beneficiary of this campaign, and has direct access to all funds donated here.
