In November of 2019, I suffered a traumatic facial injury. A total of 57 bones in my face were broken including both eye sockets and my upper and lower jaw. I have undergone 18 surgeries since that time and still need additional procedures.
I need complete upper and lower dental implants and work to revise the scars and scar tissue that has formed from so many procedures. I am also suffering from visual problems including double vision. In order to complete my healing journey I will need at least $30,000 for expenses that my medical insurance will not pay.
My injury was cause by a suicide attempt. I had a complete psychological break and in that brief moment felt like there was no way to overcome my complete despair. I have undergone extensive counseling and have had 18 months of recovering in solitude to get to the place I am in now, which is love of God and myself. God has plans for me. Once I get back on my feet, I want to be a liaison to other people going through traumatic facial injuries, as a mentor or to just be there as someone who has been through it. I didn't have that, I had to go it alone.
