Hi, my name is Emily and I am fundraising for my friend Ashley.

A woman or girl is killed every eleven minutes by an intimate partner across the globe. That’s 47,000 women a year.

It takes a victim of domestic violence approximately seven attempts before they leave their abusers for the final time.

Ashley fled her abusive partner and father to her three children with the help of county services in July 2022. She’s been hiding from him ever since.

Ashley and her children spent 5 months in a protected emergency homeless shelter for victims and survivors of domestic abuse and violence. They are now living in an apartment funded by rapid rehousing grants for domestic violence survivors.

After years of abuse, the sudden and shocking need for escape, and the fear of retaliation, all while managing the shared trauma and recovery of her children, she has taken every step necessary to protect her family. This would not have been possible without her legal team. They have decades of experience and are her greatest asset in advocating for her and her children’s safety, protection, future and well being.

And she needs your help to keep them. Her current legal bills exceed $15,000. She anticipates they’ll reach a total of $35,000 by the end of summer.
