Help Ashley through this traumatic car accident

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Amy or Mom Hall, our daughter was in a very bad car accident early Saturday morning (8/27/2022). She was ejected from her vehicle and we believe laid in the field for around 45 mins before a passerby noticed a vehicle in the ditch and called it in. When they got there they first thought it was an abandoned vehicle but after searching the area they then found Ashley unconscious but breathing. Flight for Life was called in and she was rushed to ThedaClark.

I awoke to a phone call around 5:45 Saturday morning, asking if I was Amy and telling me I think we have your daugther. She then asks me if she had any birth marks or anything else that can identify her. I tell her about her collarbone tattoos. So then goes to ask the nurses if they were there. Yes? Confirmed it's Ashley. She just tells me there has been an accident and she is hurt very badly and to come to the Theda ER. I wake everyone up and we get ready in about 5 mins and make the long agonizing drive there. We chat with the social worker and get more details. She was put on a ventilator because she could not maintain her airway. We were able to see her for just a few mins. Then the plastic surgeon there stated he could do the repair so now she flight for lifed down to Freodoert. We leave theda and make our way there.

She sustained a major skull fracture, it's on the top of her head and it goes from ear to ear along with a small brain bleed. Fractured nasal bones and a few other facial fractures. About a 5 cm scalp laceration with a huge abrasion with it and chip fracture of tibia. Something is also wrong with her ankle and they were getting an x-ray tonight.

Day 2 8/28
She is off the vent today and is responding with a thumbs up or thumbs down. The nurse had to remove some lines, which Ashley did not like and she even spoke....it hurts. We did get her to open her eyes a few times but only for a few seconds. On a lighter note, one of the doctors asked how Joe and I were doing.. and Ashley heard it and put her thumb down. The nurse said she did a tiny bit of PT this morning.. things are looking up alittle bit anyways

Ashley has long road ahead of her with a pile of medical bills that are just starting. 2 nights in the ICU and 2 helicopter rides and countless CT's to monitor the brain bleed and a million others tests, the bills are going to astronomical.

Looks like college might be on hold for a little bit now. Thank you for all of the wonderful thoughts and prayers that everyone has been sending us. We really appreciate all of it.
