Our beautiful Ashley Blair Forester, amazing mother of two loving teenagers, loving wife, sister, daughter, friend, and teacher, has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma. The timing was awful, as she was in the process of changing teaching positions and had just lost her insurance.

Ashley started chemo last week and has a long battle ahead of her. She is a fighter and we know she will give it her all and make it through this battle!

Background

Last week, Ashley was very short of breath, not being able to make it up the stairs. Wednesday, July 30th, her arm went numb and got chest pains, so she went to the ER. They discovered that she had an excess of fluid around her heart and both lungs, so they transported her to Rapid City where over the next 3 days, doctors removed 0.5 liters of fluid from around her heart, 1.5 liters from her right lung, and 1 liter from her left lung. 

 After a biopsy and scans, doctors determined the cause of the fluid build up to be from diffused large B-cell Lymphoma, and began chemo immediately. 

 Saturday evening, August 2nd, they began her first treatment of chemo, going through the night and into Sunday afternoon. 

 Ashley was finally discharged on Monday, August 4 and went home after 5 nights in the hospital. This has been such an unexpected and surreal journey for her and her family. They are all so incredibly grateful for all of the love, prayers, positive vibes, and support from friends, family, loved ones and strangers alike.
