Ashley McCann Memorial Bench Fund
Ashley McCann was a friend to everyone who met her. Her infections joy, empathy, sincerity, lightning wit and passion for life drew her close to so many, and the world was better with her in it. Unfortunately Ashley left this world in July 2020.
Due to COVID-19, formal arrangements have been challenging to coordinate. In lieu of a headstone, Ashley's sister would like to memorialize Ashley with a bench near Austin's Secret Beach in Roy G. Guerrero park, which was one of Ashley's favorite destinations.
The $2,400 cost of the bench includes the bench, installation, inscription, and lifetime maintenance by the city. I have confirmed with the city that the location is available, and once the fundraiser goal is met I will coordinate the installation with the city. I have linked the program below. Funds over the $2,400 will go toward a proper celebration of life and scattering of ashes for Ashley once it is safe to do so.
