Ashley Lynas's Road To Recovery

For those who know Ashley, she is a happy, easy going person, full of life and fun-loving energy. She has a loving family with Gary and their two daughters Payton (12), and Hailey (4). Ashley is very social and always looks forward to spending time with family and friends.
Unfortunately, On Tuesday April 6, Ashley suddenly and without warning experienced a debilitating pain in her head. Ashley’s daughter Payton (12) quickly called 911. After being ambulanced to the hospital Ashley was diagnosed with Arteriovenous Malformations (AVM). This complex and rare abnormality in the brain that caused the blood vessels carrying oxygen rich blood to Ashley’s brain to rupture. Leaving Ashley to collapse in pain, with numbness, and paralysis.
Ashley was taken to the Regina General hospital where she underwent a surgery to help remove the blood surrounding her brain. After which she was rushed via the Stars ambulance to the Royal University Hospital (RUH) in Saskatoon. Within 72 hours Ashley had undergone 3 more very critical surgeries to save her life. These surgeries were successful and the wonderful staff and doctors at the RUH in Saskatoon were able remove approximately 70% of the blood clot and give Ashley a chance to live and recover.
With covid restrictions Ashley is unable to have any face-to-face visitors. As expected, her recovery is slow, but each day Ashley is becoming more aware of who her family is, and with the help of the hospital nursing staff Ashley is able to do video chats with her family.
Ashley’s recovery will be a long road and her life will be forever changed. Over the past 15 years she has built a successful career as a hair stylist, to provide for her family. However, she will be unable to continue in this career, that she loves, because of the long-term negative effects of her AVM.
While Ashley’s career was rewarding, this career does not offer any benefits, and with Ashley being the primary financial supporter of her family, this leaves Ashley and her family (Gary, and her two young girls), with a difficult financial burden due to the expense related to her recovery as well as her unknown future.
Ashley will potentially need more surgeries, and certainly will need years and possibly a lifetime of various forms of therapy and medical care and equipment. Our hope is that we will be able to provide Ashley and her family with the best care and financial support in this critical time. We would like to ease the financial burden of medical costs over the next few months. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated to help give Ashley a chance to recover without stressing about finances.
